This Privacy Policy was created to let you know exactly what information Scentsy, Inc. will collect from you and your child through voluntary use of ScentsyBuddy.com, why we collect it, and what we intend to use it for.
Scentsy may collect two different types of information: Personally Identifiable Information and Non-Personally Identifiable Information.
Personally Identifiable Information is information that identifies you or your child as individuals. Your names, address, telephone number, email address, credit card information, billing address, and shipping information is all Personally Identifiable Information.
Non-Personally Identifiable Information is information that cannot identify you and your child. This includes things like age, favorite colors or Scentsy fragrances, and other demographic information like where you’re from, or your age.
Additionally, when visitors come to our site, we may passively collect certain non-personally identifiable computer information, such as the type of computer operating system (e.g., Windows XP or Mac OS), the user's IP Address, the web browser (e.g., Netscape, Internet Explorer) being used, the frequency with which guests visit various parts of our sites, and information regarding the Internet service provider, in order to make our sites more interesting and useful to you and for various purposes related to our business.
User Name, Password and Cookies
When you register on the Scentsy Buddy website, you create a user name and password. This information allows you to create a Buddy profile and birth certificate. Your username and password are stored on our servers so that you can access your profile each time you visit the Scentsy Buddy website When you log into your profile, you will have the option to receive cookies. A cookie is piece of encoded information that is stored on your computer’s web browser. The only cookie sent by the Scentsy Buddy website is one that allows you to access your profile without login into your account each time your browser opens. There is no personally identifiable information in the cookies from ScentsyBuddy.com.
We collect information from you to establish and maintain a relationship with you, respond to any questions or concerns you may have, and try our best to personalize your experience on ScentsyBuddy.com.
Scentsy does not sell or lease Personally Identifiable Information about you or your child to others. Scentsy uses all of the Personally Identifiable Information collected on this site only to provide services related to the website. Scentsy does not share Personally Identifiable Information with third parties for marketing or advertising. Scentsy does not share Personally Identifiable Information with third parties for marketing or advertising. Scentsy may engage third parties to assist with services related to the website, such as technical or processing services, order or contest fulfillment, and website analysis and optimization and as a result Scentsy may share Personally Identifiable Information about you and your child with others to fulfill contractual agreement or as required by law, such as with our affiliates, third parties in connection with the provision of services to you, government entities and regulatory bodies, and those you wish us to share your information with. Scentsy requires third parties to agree to treat Personally Identifiable Information confidentially and securely.
Contests
To enhance your ScentsyBuddy.com experience, we may conduct contests from time to time. If you or your child participates in the contests, we will ask them to provide his/her email address to notify the winners. If your child wins, we may be required to ask you, the parent, for other personally identifiable information necessary to award prizes, such as a shipping address and full name. All personally identifiable information collected in connection with contests or promotions will be deleted immediately upon completion of the contest.
Surveys
We may contact you or your child for information in connection with ScentsyBuddy.com for feedback so we may improve your ScentsyBuddy.com experience. We will not collect any Personally Identifiable Information with any survey or feedback request we may send. Any information gained from these surveys will be used only in connection to the services provided by the site.
Please note that this Privacy Policy does not address the privacy practices or policies of third parties, including Scentsy Independent Consultants. However, Scentsy Independent Consultants agree, as specified in our Policies and Procedures, to comply with all applicable privacy laws and regulations.
